About the Club

The Cawthra Seniors Golf Club originated in 2005 and became a non-profit golf club in the Mississauga community so that seniors could enjoy golf in a social environment.
Jack Chivers is the gentleman who approached the Cawthra Community Centre with the idea, and after placing a small add in the Mississauga news, a group of about 20 golfers were ready to play their first 9-holes together. The interest in the club grew steadily.
By 2014 the club had over 150 members, and ran both a 9-hole and 18-hole season with scheduled tee-times at several courses.

Dave Reilly recognized the need to develop a website to accommodate the increasing demands of the club. He produced, maintained and continually improved a multi-faceted site that assisted in scheduling, integrated a handicap system and evolved as a focal point for friendly competitions and a host of other interactive functions. Dave will also be remembered for his wonderful sense of humour.
As Director of Communications, he kept members both informed and entertained by his special wit and cheerful manner.

Today, the Cawthra Seniors Golf Club has over 280 members with an executive team and a constitution.
The website continues to evolve , allowing the Club to add year round social events such as bowling and indoor golf.

Each season is celebrated with a year-end tournament in Mississauga, followed by an immensely popular banquet.
